About Our Service in Long Island
In 2010 Private Prep partnered with local educator Jeremy Cohen to launch service in Long Island. Through this partnership, Private Prep Long Island delivers high quality tutoring that helps students achieve their goals.
Our talented team in Long Island consists of passionate and experienced educators with expertise in a wide range of subjects and test prep. They understand the unique pressure facing our students and provide valuable support that transcends academics. Many of our Academic Coaches faced similar environments during their grade school years and can relate to how our students feel as they try to manage school, social life, family and extracurricular activities.
Jeremy Cohen – Long Island Director
A Roslyn native, Jeremy has taught math at Herricks High School since 2006. He has developed an outstanding reputation as an educator in the community by giving students the confidence to tackle challenging math concepts. As a tutor, Jeremy gets to know his students on a personal level and helps them maximize their potential in class and on standardized tests. Jeremy has a master’s degree in secondary education from Hofstra University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Stern School of Business at NYU. Prior to teaching math at Herricks, Jeremy was an accountant at Morgan Stanley. He currently lives in Roslyn with his wife Melany and dog Eli.
The Private Prep Hybrid SAT Package
Private Prep offers a unique SAT prep program that combines the benefits of small class instruction and individual tutoring. As part of the Hybrid SAT Prep Program, students are introduced to the approaches and strategies that will help them successfully navigate the SAT with instruction in a small class setting of 10 students. The class also lays the foundation for our in-home tutoring sessions, which focus on the individual progress of each student.
The Private Prep Hybrid Package includes:
- 12 hours of small class instruction
- 15 hours of private instruction
- 6 full-length proctored practice tests
Below are the scheduled dates for the fall semester Hybrid SAT classes at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center and SkiSafe offices. Classes held at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center run from 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm. Classes at the SkiSafe offices run from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm.

Practice Test Information
We administer practice SAT, ACT and SAT IIs throughout the year at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center and SkiSafe Offices. We begin practice tests promptly. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in.
