Drawing from Experience
Former Private Prep parent Sarah Janover joins our NYC team after years in publishing.
New York’s newest director Sarah Janover has an Ivy League MBA and an executive’s resume. However, it’s her many years as a former Private Prep parent of two daughters that sets her apart and makes her uniquely positioned to support New York City families.
Sarah was raised on Staten Island in a family of educators. She has an MBA from Columbia University and an extensive professional background that includes experience in corporate banking at Lehman Brothers, Chief-of-Staff at People and Business Manager at In Style magazine. After a few years away as a full-time mom, Sarah joined our team in November.
From Client to Counselor
Sarah is intimately familiar with Private Prep’s services and support. Her two daughters worked with Private Prep subject and test prep tutors to succeed and excel in school, and ultimately gain acceptance to the colleges of their choice.
“As a client, I didn’t fully understand or appreciate the amount of work that Private Prep devotes to every student,” Sarah admits. “But I was very aware of and happy with the personalized attention and support we received. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to use my experience to help other families navigate the challenges they’re facing.”
Returning to Private Prep as a NYC Director, Sarah understands the rigors of balancing middle school and high school academics and social life as she helps families navigate what can be difficult times. From meeting with families to establishing connections to finding the right tutor for each student, she approaches her position with her experience as a client and the mindset of a counselor.
